The main objective of TRACNET is to be able to track and position a mobile object with the help of a wireless sensor network. There are several sensor nodes that are deployed in the physical environment wherein we want our object to be mapped. Each of these nodes will have wireless links with all the other nodes in the system, embedded processing capability and on-node storage, and location and positioning knowledge which is gathered by employing the localization algorithm.
The algorithm used by TRACNET uses Two-Way Ranging to calculate the Time of Flight and establishes the necessary parameters that would enable efficient tracking using RSSI, before switching back to TWR to reset the parameters and repeating RSSI.
